Youth Summer Camp at
Light Root Farm & Learning Center
Our youth and teen summer camp programs are designed to offer immersive learning experiences through weekly sessions themed around regenerative agriculture skills and practices. Each weekly camp session explores regenerative agriculture topics that foster single skill based learning including, soil health and composting, sustainable gardening practices, organic methods for animal husbandry, and harvesting crops and medicinal herbs.
As a farm camp program offering single skill sessions in regenerative agriculture we are operating in compliance with the CDEC's single-skill exemption for child care licensing. Single-skill exemption is defined by CDEC as: A special school or class operated for a single skill-building purpose. A single-skill program includes the development of an individual skill which does not include naptime or overnight care. Our day camp programs run from 9:00am-3:00pm and we do not offer nap time or overnight options.

The Farm & Nature Camp for Kids

Farm & Nature Camp allows kids to explore the magic of Mother Earth by participating in meaningful work and learning practical skills, while also developing a relationship with the land, the plants, and the animals on the farm.
Kids will be immersed in the work and rhythms of farm life, including daily care of animals, cow milking, butter making, collecting eggs, garden activities, vegetable harvest and food preparation, as well as nature exploration, practical skills, and outdoor games!

Agrarian Earth Stewards Camp for Teens

The Agrarian Earth Stewards Camp

Agrarian Earth Stewards program is designed for young teens interested in agroecology, land stewardship, and practical skills of farming. Campers will be immersed into project and skill based learning through collaborative and educational work in the vegetable and medicinal herb gardens, working with livestock and draft animals, small building projects, and regenerative farm systems.
