Boulder OSMP Addiction & Recovery Program in Partnership with Light Root Farm
The Addiction Recovery & Wellness Farm Program offers adults a hands-on pathway to recovery, self-care, and peer support. Through immersive farm experiences—planting seeds, tending the land, building compost, and working with animals—participants explore meaningful metaphors for growth, resilience, and positive choice. While building compost, participants learn how breaking down what’s no longer useful can create a foundation for healthy growth—on the farm and within themselves.
In collaboration with Boulder OSMP and Boulder Community Health, the program is supported by peer leaders and facilitators who guide reflection and conversation, helping participants connect their farm experiences to personal recovery. This supportive environment encourages community, shared learning, and belonging.
In 2025, Light Root Farm facilitated six therapeutic farm sessions, with 30–45 participants per session. The farm program continues to be the most popular in this series, providing adults with the opportunity to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and experience healing through purposeful, hands-on work.
