Light Root Farm’s

Parent & Child Program

Join us at Light Root farm for a farm and nature-based program for young children ages 1-5 years old with a parent or caregiver accompanying them to explore, participate in meaningful farm work, be outside, and gather in community on the farm.  This is a Waldorf- inspired program that will include seasonal farm activities, circle time and story, simple snacks and herbal tea, exploring and playing in nature, and an opportunity for children and parents to be together in community.

Each morning session will be rhythmically structured to include farm activities, morning circle and story, snack time, and a farm walk and nature exploration. This is a fully outdoors program. Our goal is to offer a space where young children and caregivers can participate in the seasonal rhythms of the farm and explore the natural world through a mix of guided group time and free play. Fall Session farm activities will include collecting chicken eggs, caring for calves and pigs, garden harvest and soil work.
